Hello!
Recently my grandmother (86), aunt(67), cousin (36), and myself have all decided to start a book club. The problem I am encountering is that we have different reading preferences. My grandmother and my aunt are quite religious and conservative so while I enjoy some *spice*, my level of spice will definitely not be comfortable for them. I am looking for suggestions on something she and us may enjoy.
She loves historical fiction, westerns, anything that is a period piece. Some light romance is okay so long as it is not super graphic.
Thank you for any/all suggestions!

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith
The “All Creatures Great and Small” series by James Herriot.
True Grit is the answer here i think. Mattie Ross is easy to love whether yer a 14 yo anarchist shit disturber or an 80yo religious matron.
