I’m writing (or at least planning) a piece of historical fiction based around a late 70s talk show planning an elaborate murder plot against his boss. I’m sort into the idea of writing it as a faux memoir written decades after he gets caught, but I really need to get a feeling for memoir writing before I’m sold on that idea.
My favourite memoirs are Here Comes Everybody by former Pogues accordion player James Fearnley and Rocket Boys by NASA engineer Homer Hickham. Graham Norton’s autobiography also had a really good “voice” to it.
I’m looking for more especially related to the entertainment industry (the Australian entertainment industry would be a plus), or from the point of view of criminals. Anyone got any recs?
