CW – brief mentions of trauma events
Hello everyone!
I’m doing a college essay on how families (blood family or found family) and specifically spouses supported survivors of intense trauma (think POWs, holocaust survivors, trafficking, childhood abuse etc.)
So, I’m looking for books written by those exact family members where they speak on their experiences and the experience of their partner/family. While I am focusing on nonfiction (for obvious reasons haha), I would be interested in exploring fictional accounts as those often hold kernels of life experience for the author.
Particularly my essay is exploring life after [X traumatic events] and how support/safety networks are essential for healing, along with how that healing/support occurred.
