What are very specific tropes you like the most?
Mine so far are:
1. MC (or another important character) is forced to kill someone they loved dearly as their loved one was either brainwashed into a villain or turned into a supernatural monster and after trying really hard to bring them back but failing, the MC sadly admits that their loved on must go to protect others, and lets them die while still feeling absolutely terrible
2. After a lot of development btwn the two, the FMC and MMC are in a mission together that goes terribly wrong, and one love interest runs to carry out the other as death is clearly approaching because “I’m not leaving without you no matter what” (bonus points if at the end the injured love interest is resting at home and ends up being comforted by the other, and also if in another mission the one who was previously saved now saves the other one)
3. When things finally seem to be going right, but then in one scene the tone creepily changes and it’s revealed that everything was orchestrated by a manipulative and genuinely smart villain, and the MC realizes that their situation is more devastating than they thought
4. The royal family appears to be well put together on the outside, but are actually a bunch of psychopathic killers and smart business people
5. Character with nothing slowly rises to the top through tactics and manipulation, but then their corruption and greed gets to them and eventually causes their downfall to where they started
