I just finished The Idiot by Elif Batuman and loved it. I also love any and every book by Haruki Murakami. My favorites of his are Killing Commendatore and The Wind-Up Bird Chronicle. I just enjoy first-person narratives from moody, sort of isolated main characters who are relatable for introverts. I also like the narrative detailing their thought process and the aspect of being in their own world, isolated from others in some way. But also needs to not be too pitiful of a character!
Any suggestions?
