Books with troubled, cynical main characters

Hey there! English isn’t my first language and my request might sound odd, but bear with me haha.

I’m looking for books with troubled (main) characters who are fighting some demons and are just done with it all. It would be great if they are cynical and kinda bitter, maybe a bit unhinged.
Actually they don’t have to fit these traits exactly, it’s more of a special vibe I’m looking for which makes it difficult. I’m thinking about characters likes Eddie Dean from The Dark Tower, also Bartimäus from Jonathan Stroud gave me similar vibes as a kid. Similar characters in TV series would be the ghoul from Fallout or David from Legion and also Steven from Moon Knight in some way.

I hope someone gets what I mean haha. I don’t really care about the genre, but sci-fi and fantasy are rather my cup of tea than thriller or crime, but I take what I get based on my odd request. Thank you so much in advance!
