    Hello!

Summer is almost here, and it’s time to plan my summer reading! Unfortunately, I have a very specific type of guilty pleasure I read in the summer. It includes…

    -historical fiction centered around women
-rich people who face a tragedy and try to fight it off with ignorance
    -extremely beautiful descriptions of food
    – a warm and balmy environment that brings to mind august summers, glitz and glam, and lazy nights.

    For example, my go-tos are:
-We Were Liars by E. Lockhart
-Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood by Rebecca Wells
-Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens
-The Thousandth Floor series by Katherine McGee
-The Help by Kathryn Stockett (I don’t read this one anymore due to its problematic nature, but the style of writing is what I’m looking for.)

This mix of murder, riches, and the summer heats is captivating and such a good guilty pleasure. While it doesn’t need all 3 elements, it does help.

Let me know if you have a suggestion!
