Book Suggestions

I’m in a reading slump, looking for something easy to get into. Story-driven, memorable characters, great atmosphere, funny tongue-in-cheeck writing.

I like Sci-Fi, Mystery, Realism, Surrealism, Magical realism, Romance, Comedy, Romantic Comedy.. almost any genre.

I’m not opposed to Fantasy, depends on how good it is.

Ideally, in terms of plot: Big city, New York at night, University vibes.

I’m 24 years old, if that’s important.

Doesn’t have to completely completely match all this, you can type anything close enough.

Have you read any Robert Rankin books? He mixes daft humour with a bit of action and surrealism. Nostradamus Ate My Hamster, The Greatest Show Off Earth and Armageddon: The Musical are three of my all time favourites and very easy to read.

The Rivers of London series by Ben Aaranovich might suit! Rivers of London is the first book; London policeman is drawn into investigation of magical crimes. Peter Grant, the main character, has a wonderful narration style. It sounds a great match.
