    Hey,

I’ve been reading non-fiction for a while, but this year have promised myself to start reading fiction.

I’m looking for books good for a young man like myself; i’m at a stage in life where everything is changing and i’m working out who I am –> about to graduate from university, going travelling through Europe, applying for corporate jobs for next year.

For context, here are the fiction books i’ve read in the last year:

\- No country for Old men, The road, Blood Meridian (Cormac McCarthy) –> loved all of these, I think he could be my favourite author ever.

\- Into the wild – I loved it and the movie too

\- The Dharma Bums – Kerouac (didn’t like it at all, I thought he was so arrogant and ‘up-himself’ – an australian way of saying he thought he was really cool and trendy and better than everyone else, which is why I’ve steered away from On the Road by him but if you can convince me i’m open)

\- The plague, Camus (excellent, would be keen to explore more of Camus)

\- Hollywood, Bukowski (it was cool to have an insight into the painstaking process of making a movie but I wouldn’t say it blew me away, kind of forgettable).

\- Girl with the dragon tattoo (pretty good too)

    \- Poisonwood Bible (wow…)

\- The beach (also pretty good)

Movies / TV shows I’m in to which might guide your suggestions:

\- Peaky blinders, the gentlemen, true detective, the bear, Sons of Anarchy (i know its a guilty pleasure), Last of Us.

\- Drive (2011), Prisoners, Anything Nolan, Tarantino or Scorsese, Blade Runner (both), Place Beyond the Pines, Most A24 films, Cohen brothers, Guy Ritchie, Nightcrawler, Most things Leo, Pitt, Gyllenhaal, or Gosling.

I’d appreciate any recommendations! Thanks 🙂
