I just read When You Reach Me and I think this is the best books for audiobook format. The first two acts were just the author setting up the pieces — the protagonist goes to school, goes to work, hangs out with family, meets people, finds things that’ll later be important, etc.
The third act is when everything starts to fit together and you realize that everything you thought was just filler before was important for the story’s ending. Looking for more stories like that!

Any book by Brandon Sanderson.
I’m not saying this as a downside. It’s his style. We call it the Sanderlanche.
