Hello. I kept seeing fantasy book recs all over the place, and the ones that caught my attention the most were Fourth Wing and ACOTAR.
But, I’m a bit unsure. I never thought I was a fantasy reader, until pretty recently that I’ve read Tress of the Emerald Sea, and loved it.
But everyone was tagging it as easy/cozy fantasy, and I guess it’s true because after that I gave Children of Blood and Bone by Tomi Adeyemi a try, and I truly struggled to finish it. Now I’m going through the second book of the trilogy and I’m still struggling.
And I don’t know if it’s a good idea to get into more complex fantasy if I’m struggling like this, although I don’t know if it’s because of the fantasy world aspect or because of the book/plot or writing itself that isn’t really gripping me…
Should I give Fourth Wing and ACOTAR a try? I’ve seen very mixed thoughts on both, so I’m a bit skeptical. And I’ve heard S.J Maas has 2 other series, that I’ve looked into.
Is that a good idea or should I continue with more simple, or other “cozy” fantasy novels?
