I’d like to read during bedtime, but because reading is part of the job description (PhD student), and I’m going through a very stressful phase work-wise, I almost feel like I don’t want to read anything that’s too dark or heavy, so I spiral down the youtube rabbit hole at bedtime. Stuff that I’ve been able to get through (quite happily) during bedtime-reading sessions: Yasunari Kawabata’s The Old Capital (gentle, slice-of-life), Donna Tartt’s The Secret History, Salman Rushdie’s The Enchantress of Florence (got through it, but didn’t really like it), Voltaire’s Candide, and Tom Stoppard plays (I think absurdist, comedy works pretty well). Would appreciate suggestions, thanks!
