I’m at a point in my life where I am really questioning whether the field I am in is right for me. Does anyone have recommendations for well-written books with themes of confusion about life path and discovering what one really wants? I’m thinking literary fiction or non-fiction (memoirs, biographies) but am open to other suggestions.
Self-help career books haven’t helped me at all which is why I am turning to other genres.

I know you’ve said self-help career books haven’t helped, but have you read *A Job to Love* by the School of Life/Alain de Botton? It’s sort of self-help, sort of philosophy. It might succeed where others have failed.
