Note: Romance tag is the closest thing to what I’m trying to describe.
I’ve had a really good high with Tomorrow, and Tomorrow, and Tomorrow by Gabrielle Zevin, but now I’m having trouble finding books that tackle similar themes of love and companionship. Most romance I’ve read allots a considerable chunk of its prose in describing the protagonist’s attraction to the other party; which usually boils down to their physical qualities or how dark and handsome they are. What I want is the essence of a relationship between two characters: magnetic, powerful, and with proclamations of I Love You that does not require saying those actual words to be felt. Help!
