I have kind of(?) enjoyed Bukowski, but I have found that after reading him days in a row, I feel depleted; so much so that I have to read something light before I go to bed or I’ll feel off.
I really like Steinbeck, any Brontes, and most authors deemed as ‘classic literature’ writers.
I’m really looking for something earthy and gritty though (like Bukowski) but with some joy and life spotted throughout. I’m currently reading Trainspotting after enjoying the movie for years, wanting something similar if you can think of it!
