I just finished this book suggested by a redditor in another post (thank you random guy). I’d like to read your opinions about it. I really don’t know what to think of this book. It was a very difficult read for me not being a native english speaker. The sentences are long and rich in style, and use old words I had to look the definitions for.
But at the same time I was fascinated by the rawness and cruelty of the story. Dialogs are short and sharp, the protagonists are dirty and relentless. It gives a very harsh view of the conquest of territories. It was even more surprising to me reading that Galton was a real individual who did what I read in the book.
Still, I am not sure what to take from this book. This is not a simple one, there is no real heroes (on the contrary), I am not at an age where I expect a simplistic lesson from a book, but this one left me wondering.
