My mom bought me this book, but I don’t see many reviews about it, I’ve search it up a bit and the creator of this book is the founder of a religion or cult called Scientology, I had no idea something like that existed.
Should I read it, will I learn a lot of it? Or is it a bad book

Is your mom a scientologist? You can read it for its cultural/historical value (if any) but it should not be taken seriously as a medical or informative text.
The man who wrote this book started a cult and this book is used as a recruitment tool for the cult
Find out why your mom picked it up and make sure she doesn’t sign any billion year contracts.
Dianetics is just the entry level self help type stuff, but further in there’s space aliens and past lives etc. It’s the entry point to a human trafficking organization that masquerades as a UFO cult for tax purposes

I knew nothing about this group then this really opened my eyes. Fair warning if I remember right the documentary does bring up abuse.
