I wanted to read it because someone on here said it was such a funny book. On par with Catch-22….. crickets.
There were parts on the beginning that made me chuckle. I can’t say it was bad because it definitely kept me hooked. I thought the main character was terrible but that didn’t bother me. It was SO anticlimactic.
It seemed to be building towards something, then in my opinion went nowhere. I wanted to know more about her blackouts. I was under the impression that Xing Li was some sort of monster and I thought maybe he assaulted her when she first saw him at the club and puked up glitter.
And I could see it was leading up to a 9/11 ending. It felt gimmicky to me. It’s not something I will most likely ever read again. And I’m really surprised by how many people love it. I guess I’m not smart enough to “get it”
