I’ve been a HUGE war story book guy. But, I’ve never heard the specific tail of a father who was in WW1, whom had a son go serve in WW2. This dynamic is FASCINATING to me. Especially given how horrific WW1 was. To then see your child go out to another war, after you fought in what was considered “The Great War” in the sense that it was supposed to be the last war. Closest thing I’ve seen is the movie/book Hacksaw Ridge. But, that was still European Theatre. I want perspective, whether father or son, from both theatre’s.
