Far too often the braggers on this sub will come out of their holes and brag how they read absurd – almost impossible – number of books like 300 or 400 or 500 in a year besides a full time job.

Then it turns out that these sad creatures avoid longer books and count even Mangas and Comics and listen to Audiobooks at 2x speed as background noise while doing something else and missing half the content – just to get the numbers up to stroke their pathetic ego.

Why are you people doing this? Isnt it kind of a waste to avoid longer books just to get the numbers up?

Isnt it kind a waste missing half the content of the A-Book while doing something else?

Also listening to an audiorecording of someone else reading a book to you is NOT reading. You may have gotten the same info as the reader. But the reader actually read the book – while you just pretended.

You are like a cyclist using an E-Bike. You may have the exact same experience and info as the real cyclist – but you didnt do it by your own effort. You had help and are dishonest.

Its like claiming to have won the tour de France – while leaving out the important detail that you had a state of the art E-Bike that took of 3/4 of you work.
