Nothing. It’s an awful book that isn’t useful, no matter what you’re trying to accomplish. See Jeffrey Pfeffer’s work instead, who is an actual scholar on power dynamics who focuses on providing evidence-based advice on accumulating and wielding power. His books, 7 Rules of Power, and Power: Why Some Have It and Others Don’t, are both good. If you want something that’s focused on social influence, check out Cialdini’s Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion, or even How to Win Friends and Influence People. 48 Laws of Power, and all of Greene’s other work, are unreliable bullshit written by someone who has no clue what he’s talking about.
