Hello! I’ve recently finished the Shogun FX series and I really liked it. I’d really like to experience more media with such political plots. I know I could read the book, but I’m not interested in reading the same story (although probably much more fleshed out) so soon after experiencing it for the first time.
Then I thought, why not combine it with fantasy? I love fantasy. Not sure what I really like about it, but I’m just drawn to it more than any other setting.
I also love, LOVE magic in fantasy, mostly the soft, mythical, mysterious kind. I’d love to read some books with it. I really like some hints of a broader mythology, the idea that there is some grand, mysterious story you’ll never quite know, like you’re just peeking through a curtain with magic.
I’d absolutely love reading a book with both, but I understand that this is a VERY specific ask and no such book probably exists. As such, I’d like to read either or. If you decide to recommend a book here (thank you if you do), it can be either one with the political or the mythical elements. Of course, it would be amazing if one with both existed, but I’m not sure how realistic that is.
Thank you!
