I listen to audiobooks often, but I prefer fiction when listening to a book. I just got back into actually reading, which I prefer non-fiction. Reason is, my brain seems to, by default, want to learn and absorb as much of the information as possible when actually reading, which makes it hard to read fiction but perfect for non-fiction. I was the kid in college that actually read and learned from textbooks, and enjoyed doing so.
I used to read a fair amount in college, mostly on technical topics such as books about the universe, math and engineering. I just got back into actually reading with my two most recent books being: 1) A History of the Human Brain by Bret Stetka and 2) The Power of Habit by Charles Duhigg. I read them in that order and the topics actually synergized quite well. I’m looking for my next book and would love any suggestions people may have for me. Doesn’t have to be synergistic with these two books, but if it was, that’d be awesome!
TIA!
