There’s a lot going on in my brain and life at the moment and I just want to read something that’s a good time. Not to say it doesn’t have any substance, but something I can just read and not have to analyze or keep up with a million characters and world-building and alternate universes and magic systems, etc.
Faves are Seanan McGuire, V.E. Schwab…Shakespeare, Plath, and Poe. I’ve mostly enjoyed the Christopher Moore books I’ve read and love Good Omens–but don’t care for Gaiman or Pratchett’s solo work. I adore The Foxhole Court series. I also quite like Barbara Kingsolver and Alice Hoffman. (I know several of these authors have new series out, but I am afraid of reading them in my current mood/frame of mind.)
Requests: No Stephen King, JK Rowling, John Green, or Holly Black. Please no series, high fantasy, or graphic descriptions of violence/torture/suicide, or animal cruelty or death. Also please no non-fiction or (auto) biographies. 🙏🏻
Thank you in advance! 😊
