I recently watched Into the Wild for the first time so that sparked my hunger for ‘escape society and embrace the wilderness’ type books and I came across A Field Guide to Getting Lost and was like “Poyfect!”
It is probably one of the best books I’ve read so far this year, just reading about her writing about wondering with no determination to find anything and using historical allegories to remind us that it’s okay to not fully understand everything. My favorite part of the book was at the beginning when she talks about her friend creating her own tarot cards and her idea of justice, that whole segment is something I will never forget. When I disappear completely, the moments of clarity will be cherishing this book.
