It was definitely an interesting read for me and my first of Kazuo Ishiguro. There were so many string that could have been followed off from the main story that were left undiscussed like her father and ‘fascism’ and Sal’s AF and death, but despite that the story continued to be incredibly well written and I didn’t feel like an incomplete story, which was surprising.
The magical realism type writing really drew me in which was surprising for me since I tend to dislike books with that style, but it was incredibly well done here.
The ending, as well, with Klara ending up in the junkyard meeting her manager one last time, and the fact that Rick and Josie ended up growing apart as they got older was bittersweet, but it reminded me that that’s how life actually works and not everything is a fairytale.
Safe to say, I want to read another of Ishiguro’s works and I have a few that I’ve written down, but any suggestions?

I’d suggest you read all of his work. Klara was good but definitely not his best.

You should read *Remains of the Day*. I like to joke that the story is the same as Klara. >!That magical realism is all in Klara’s mind; like the protagonist in Remains… she’s an unreliable narrator.!<

    3. Never let me go makes all his other works feel worse by comparison because of how good it is.
