I’ve recently been using Libby as a source for my on-going reading experience. I used to check out physical copies but found that I’m a much better reader when it comes to using my kindle.

I love Libby, but I have realized that I get somewhat anxious about having to read a book just before it’s due. Does anyone else feel this way, and if so, what are your preferences of checking out or buying? I thought maybe if a book is around 100 pages I’ll check out (Libby), but if it exceeds this threshold might as well buy so that I don’t feel too rushed.

    What are your guys’ strategies?

Have you considered checking out a physical copy? A lot of libraries no longer charge fines so there’s not as much pressure to return things.

I usually do not purchase books at all unless it is something I have a strong feeling I am going to enjoy. With Libby, you have the option to renew the loan if you aren’t finished, but some libraries will not allow you to renew if someone is waiting. Your bookmarks and notes are also saved for your next “check out.” You can also adjust the length of your holds for some libraries, so make sure your hold is set to your library’s max period. Happy Reading! 📚
