    Hello!

I am a final year student and I like to read books. My attitude towards books and reading was such that I would study for college for a certain period of time, and after that I would rest for a few days and privately read books that interested me. Such a system turned out to be really good, even though I sometimes overindulged in giving in to my wishes and neglected my university obligations. A more intense period of study and exams soon follows, and this is reflected in reading in any case. While searching on Google, I came across a few interesting blogs. All the blogs talked about how the key to success in reading and doing other tasks is to limit yourself to reading 20/25/30 pages a day. It will not be too extensive for us, so we will probably read a few more pages, and along the way we will be able to fulfill our other obligations and leave enough time for other hobbies. By reading 20/30 pages per day, we can read 7300/10950 pages in a year. If we take as an example that the average book has 300 pages, then in a year we would read 24/36 books. I read in surveys that working people read between 30-45 books per year, which pretty much agrees with the above data.

I’m interested in what you think about this kind of organization of reading?

I thought and calculated and I came to the conclusion that with this reading system, I would read more books by the end of the year, than if I read in such a way that I set aside a few days until I read one book and then devote myself to other obligations.

What I don’t like and what I’m suspicious about is that I won’t be able to link what I’ve read well enough, because if the book has 500 pages, according to this system, I’ll read it in 25 days. I’ve never had such long reading gaps. Perhaps it is not good to read too many pages per day, because then the read material gets mixed up and confusion occurs or is forgotten after a short time, while with longer reading I could reflect on the book for longer and in more detail. Also, when I get a job soon, I won’t be able to afford the privilege of taking a few days off just to read books, except during vacation.

I don’t know, I’m a little skeptical about this, but it looks like a very good system, the numbers say it, although we can’t be guided by numbers alone, because reading is not math. I would love to hear your opinion.
