I have read a wide variety of nature books, but I really enjoy the tone of wonder and appreciation of Sy Montgomery’s, The Soul of an Octopus. I would love to read more books about zoology (especially ocean life, but any biome is a-okay).
I want to be filled with inspiration and wonder and joy, and learn a lot as well. I have an academic background in geography and zoology has been a lifelong special interest. I’ve read a lot of heavy content, and while I have a higher tolerance than this material than some, I too, would like to read something lighter and more hopeful.
Thank you in advance!

Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt or The Thing About Jellyfish by Ali Benjamin would both fit the bill!
Ooh! I posted earlier asking for environmental sciences-related books. I’ll have to jot down your mentions and any suggestions you get! Lol. Some animal books could definitely work for what I’m looking for, too.
