I’ve been pretty judgemental of a lot of contemporary romance and I’m not really being fair because I haven’t read much of it I enjoy fantasy romance but my biggest issue with contemporary romance is it feels like there is no connection between characters outside of them being horny for each other and emotional connection is really important to me and the plot having actual stakes not just uhh oh I didn’t call him what does he think of me does anyone have recommendations that feature emotional connection real stakes and well written characters
