Engaging books for someone who is easily distracted

First time posting here!
I lost the reading habit a decade ago and am trying to start over, but between my ADHD and general adulting, am finding it hard to focus on anything that’s not super engaging.

Series I loved:
Harry Potter (the series, not JKR!)
Artemis Fowl
The Bartimaeus Trilogy
This is a webnovel, but “Mother of Learning” was great too.

Things I struggled with:
All Brandon Sanderson. I’ve read almost all his books but it’s been a struggle because of the amount of worldbuilding that’s needed in the first 1/4-1/3rd of the books before the story really gets going. His books are brilliant but my exhaustion doesn’t allow me to enjoy them as much anymore.
The name of the wind – not sure why I didn’t enjoy this one. I think it was too slow for me.
Lies of locke lamora – I LOVED the first book but didn’t enjoy the second or third.

Any recs very much appreciated!!
I’m older but don’t really care if a book is targeted towards a YA audience. A good book is a good book! This isn’t a requirement but I also appreciate it when a character is a genius and solves problems in creative ways, like Artemis 😁
