I am a big fan of old fairy tales. I often unwind by reading the Blue Fairy Book. I have been very stressed lately. I don’t need a complex plot, just give me princesses, quests and magical lands!
**Nettle and Bone** by T Kingfisher has a strong fairy tale fear, but I will warn you that there are some adult themes which might not be what you’re looking for.
If you’re looking to avoid more upsetting or mature themes, why not read some YA? **Ella Enchanted** and **The Two Princesses of Bamarre** are both lovely princess stories. I also recommend pretty much anything by Diana Wynne Jones, although her books are not standard princess fare.
