I’m looking for suggestions for quirky, weird, offbeat in some way books about food. Preferably fiction, but open to memoirs. Books I’ve really enjoyed like this are Sourdough by Robin Sloan and The Particular Sadness of Lemon Cake.
Open to restaurant/service-based books also. I enjoyed Sweetbitter by Stephanie Danler.
Thanks for your suggestions!!

Light from Uncommon Stars by Ryka Aoki isn’t strictly about food, but it has such rich and luscious descriptions that it might as well be! It’s contemporary fantasy/scifi, and has violinist Faustian bargains, space aliens, and trans coming-of-age elements in addition to all of the incredible food descriptions.
