Pretty much what the title says! I’m looking for suggestions for my stepdad’s birthday, he’s turning 56 in two weeks and he asked for something in the action or thriller genre. I don’t know everything he’s read but last we talked about books he was reading Game of Thrones, but like most people, said it was hard to digest sometimes.
He’s a pretty nerdy guy who doesn’t have a lot of free time, so maybe something on the smaller end (even a series?) for when we vacation. Thanks!!

The Terminal List series is a pretty popular action and thriller series written by retired Navy Seal Jack Carr.
I’d also suggest the Sigma Force series by James Rollins. They are great vacation reads. Each novel also incorporates interesting historical events into the action.
Both are great dad series!
My dad loves the Jack Reacher books by Lee Child and they’re definitely action/thriller.
James Rollins’ Sigma Force novels are great and they might appeal to his nerdy side. The first in the series is Sandstorm and I don’t remember it being too long.
Daniel Silva…….the Allon series ……first book is The Kill Artist..by far my favorite author. About an Israeli spy that moonlights as an art restorer.
John Sandford……. The prey series….first book is Rules of Prey. About a Minneapolis cop.
Carl Hiaasen……writes about all the crazy stuff in Florida, and weaves it into something even crazier……..very funny and unexpected.
Reading is my favorite hobby and I’m turning 54 in a month…….hope it helps.
Any of the original James Bind Novels by Ian Fleming. If he has already seen all the movies, get him “The Spy Who Loved Me” which bears no resemblance to the movie by the same name. (The exotic location is a motel in New York State.)
Stephen Hunter Bob Lee Swagger series,
James Rollins,
Matthew Reilly,
The Orphan X books by Gregg Hurwitz are excellent.
