I’m curious what fantasy, sci-fi, and horror novels are popular with these age groups right now.
Feel free to just name the title and author, but I’d especially appreciate if you told me a little bit about the books you’re listing.
Edit: I should probably specify that I’m referring to books that are less than a few years old. I imagine that charlotte’s web is still popular for example, but It’s not what I’m looking for.

Um, may I ask why?
HS teacher here. Turns out that my sophomores have read a *lot* of Stephen King. The Shining, It, Pet Sematery, The Dome…they love horror and I guess the classics are classics for a reason.
Fantasy/sci fi: The Hunger Games, The Maze Runner, The Fifth Wave. The dystopian struggle resonates with them, and they like survival stories. I had a junior who hadn’t read anything since Diary of a Wimpy Kid, but he ripped through the Maze Runner books.
Many kids loved Percy Jackson when they were younger–some still love Greek mythology because of it.
Genesis echo by d. Hollis Anderson – new sci-fi that’s all the rave
