Hi everyone!! I’ve been tasked with finding a replacement book for my school’s grade 9 English class.
Parameters:
– under 300 pages
– No sex, cursing, violence
– Many of the books in our curriculum have had to be cut because they were too “woke” so please keep this in mind. A book can have queer undertones but it can’t be explicit.
– Should appeal to 14-year-old readers!!
– Our freshman year reading theme is all about the self so anything with a coming-of-age theme would be great!
– magical realism, memoirs, sci-fi are all good
– Should be creative and fun to read.
Think about what you wanted to read in 9th grade!!
