I love stories that take place in the Wild West, but I hate how Hollywood has white washed it so horribly. So, I’m looking for fiction or non-fiction books that have people of color as main characters (e.g. the vast majority of cowboys were Mexican or Black). Additionally, homosexuality between men in the Wild West (esp. pioneers and ranchers who lived in isolation from women) is fairly well-documented, so bonus points for queer characters.
(I say fiction or non-fiction because I will take those obscure cowboy memoirs/poetry you can sometimes find in second-hand bookstores)
