The only books I ever read are biographies and other non fiction. I want to get into novels but I’m lost on where to start, the only one I’ve ever read was 1984 which I did like. Any suggestions for must reads?
If you enjoyed 1984, try Brave New World, Aldous Huxley; I’m fairly sure you would enjoy it.
Another good one [if you find you like books with a futuristic, scifi or apocalyptic feel] is the excellent Brief History of the Dead, Kevin Brockmeier. This book stuck in my mind for years, still think about it a lot. So is it a must-read? I’d say, yes!

Since you like biography, why not start with biographical novels?
Colm Toibin has two, The Magician about Thomas Mann, and what I consider his masterpiece The Master about Henry James.
Lauren Groff’s Matrix is about Marie de France, Medieval nun and prioress, whose writings still exist and little is known about her.

What kind of biographies do you like to read? Any favorite topics when you’re reading non-fiction? Just to give us a bit more to go on 😊
[Eric Larson](https://www.goodreads.com/author/show/5869.Erik_Larson) writes very good non-fiction books that read like novels.
If you like historical fiction, some of my recent favorites are:
[Straw Dogs of the Universe by Ye Chun](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/147553783-straw-dogs-of-the-universe)
[The Covenant of Water by Abraham Verghese](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/63429926-the-covenant-of-water)
[The Cape Doctor by EJ Levy](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/50998140-the-cape-doctor)
If you enjoyed 1984, try Brave New World, Aldous Huxley; I’m fairly sure you would enjoy it.
