Edit, realized I wrote the title wrong in post!
Finally got Demon Copperhead out of the library and I know it has been raved about on this page but I am just not loving it as much as I thought I would. Currently probably 60 pages in, looking for a pep talk that I just need to stick with it and that it is going to capture me soon or should I just give it a skip if I’m not super into it so far?
It seems like the type of book I should just adore. Some of my most favorite reads have been Pillars of the Earth, Shantaram, Goldfinch, Pachinko, The Physician, Nightingale, etc

No, you don’t.
If you’re not feeling it then stop reading it. Life’s too short (and there are too many great books) to force yourself to stick with a book you’re not enjoying. One of the great freedoms of adulthood.
I liked it a lot and I liked all the books you mentioned but it takes awhile to warm up. Don’t stick with it forever if you hate it though. There are too many amazing things to read.
I love Pillars of the Earth too! And I actually think that and Demon Copperhead have a lot of similarities in the sense that it’s not about one big “reveal” or conclusion, it’s about the journey and the characters. I’d try for a little bit more 🙂 it was slow for me too but I ended up finishing it and absolutely loved it. And if not that’s ok too, it’ll always be there. I also listened to it an audiobook after I read it, and the audiobook was awesome! So you could always try that.
I didn’t like it much either. I actually thought the first half of the book was the stronger part, it just got too cliché towards the end. So if you aren’t even feeling it in the first part it might be a clear DNF signal.
