I used to read a lot. I wanna get back to it for multiple reasons. The issue is if a book doesn’t click for me then i’m miserable reading it lol.

I mostly like YA books but I feel like I have to read something more mature now?? The only non YA book I’ve read and liked recently is The Silent Patient

    Some of my favorite books

    The Hunger Games

    All the Bright Places

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

    Harry Potter

    The Outsiders

    Twilight

    The Maze Runner

    The Hate U give

    Five Feet Apart

    Everything Everything

Simon vs the homosapiens (love simon)

    The fault in our stars

    One of us is Lying

    Holding up the Universe

They Both Die at the End

    Shatter Me Series

In general I like romance, mystery, mental health, social justice, murder, dystopian society, and supernatural themes

    Thanks in advance!

you don’t have to read something more “mature” just because you’re 20. Plenty of adults read YA.

check out the specific subs: romancebooks or fantasyromance for example. They have a few “beginner” recommendations and discussions.

something that is all the hype right now and a starting point for many new & younger romantasy readers is ACOTAR by Sarah J Maas and Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros. Both are a little smutty not sure if you are okay with that.

    2. I’m 20 too so I get the feeling of wanting to read more mature books. But don’t listen to it if it truly makes you miserable. Reading is meant to be enjoyed, so read what you enjoy.

Some books I’ve enjoyed within the last year that I can recommend include The Poppy War trilogy, The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue, and Never Let Me Go.
