Got back into reading a year ago, I enjoy fiction, but have also recently enjoyed a lot of non-fiction.
On the non-fiction side, I picked up ‘Homage to Catalonia’ by George Orwell and found it spectacular. From a friend’s recommendation I then read the ‘Cider with Rosie’ trilogy by Laurie Lee which I LOVED. I would be interested in more books like this, and I’ve a growing interest in the Spanish civil war. I just finished ‘Down and Out in Paris and London’, another Orwell book, and really enjoyed it. I loved the few pages about Bozo the screever, I find him a really interesting person.
On the fiction side I’ve been listening to mostly audiobooks, I love Iain banks’ ‘Wasp Factory’ and ‘The Bridge’, and have recently enjoyed a couple Stephen king books (Pet Semetary, Misery, currently reading 11/22/68).
Any books you’d recommend?
