like a lot of people i grew up as the harry potter books were being released , i still remember how most everyone’s parents preordered deathly hallows and recess was silent the day we got our copies haha ! i used to reread the whole series for nostalgia — however for obvious reasons the shine has been taken off them , it’s hard rereading even my beat up old bloomsbury copies that definitely no longer contribute to her anti trans donations , the enjoyments just gone really 🙁
Im trying to find a new series that gives me that same feeling? I’ve tried ACOTAR but it’s a little too fantasy ? I prefer when books are set in the real world else I have a hard time taking some of the silly things serious enough :/
Maybe the issue is just that I’m now too old to have that same emotion as i did when i read the HP books but Id like to try – if anyone knows anything — and i don’t care if its sort of mindless – although i would prefer a series that’s better written than HP
