this is a pretty specific request—does anyone have recommendations for fiction that follows a character(s) through an arc that ends in some kind of significant political action/labor movement/civil disobedience/etc? not SFF, like novels that take place in our world (historical is fine). maybe another descriptor would be novels about someone getting radicalized
In Dubious Battle by steinbeck is on my list so far but i haven’t read it yet—anything along those lines
(my personal very obscure example of this is Tim and Pete by James Robert Baker, which ends in the protagonists getting mixed up in a plot by gay domestic terrorists, great fucking book)
