Hello all.
I’ve just finished James Kestrel’s “Five Decembers” and it rekindled my love for noir mystery novels with hardboiled detectives wearing large brimmed hats, the femme fatales, red herrings and the atmosphere so thick and claustrophobic you can feel the nicotine and cheap booze just soak through the pages.
I have an upcoming trip to Palermo next month and was wondering if there are any known great books of that type set in Italy in order to set the mood a little.
The setting matters but honestly it’s a nice to have. I’m most interested in a good, well paced story with twists and good language. I’m currently writing a mystery novel myself and and good material would be welcome for reference.
Any help would be amazing!
