Hi all,
I’m in a bit if a rut and can’t seem to find anything that can keep my attention lately. I’ve literally DNFed the last 3 books I’ve started. I like a couple specific generes and tropes and it seems they come with tons of shitty writing and zero editing….
Any suggestions for decently written novels that fall into the following would be amazing. Open to all sorts of worlds and generes like paranormal, fantasy, contemporary, western, thriller….etc as long as the main genre is romance. But here is the tricky part: I like when it’s a strong hero that saves the heroine who has a troubled/abused/shit past but ISN’T written by a 5 year old.
I like a lot of drawn out angst and romance and decently written interactions. I HATE instant love and when they just jump each other’s bones. Love serious spice/sex but please, sex every chapter isn’t my thing. Love a good thriller/adventure where the heroine is the target. A jealous guy is cherry on top. But not FSoG psycho……
Tl dr: I want a well written romance novel for adults with an actual plot, intense drawn out romance with spice, and a heroine who needs a knight.

Rebecca by Daphne du Maurier is one of my favorites. It’s old, but suspenseful and romantic. Hitchcock made it into a film and I loved that too! I started another of hers called The Scapegoat and it’s a wild right from the beginning!
