The last few books I remember enjoying from childhood and in the last few years were
– The Fault in Our Stars
– Perks of Being a Wall flower
– Dark Matter
– The Great Gatsby
– The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo
– Normal People
I’m currently reading Kim Jiyoung 1982, and I was really interested by the subject matter but I find it so boring. I can’t tell whether I genuinely don’t enjoy the writing or if it’s my lack of reading comprehension and I’m an idiot because I’ve only ever enjoyed YA fiction, and perhaps I have a difficult time enjoying more adult writing? However, the book seems very straight forward but boring. My goal is to read and enjoy books outside of my comfort zone (YA fiction) but I always end up bored or just confused because I don’t entirely understand as I end up feeling defeated for being such a dumb adult.

Dark Matter isn’t YA I don’t think? Blake Crouch has someother popular books maybe try one of those? I haven’t read them yet but they’re on my list.
