Im only averaging 2-3 books, at max, maybe, in a year.

It’s kinda disheartening sometimes when Im subscribed to this sub and I see ppl saying they read like 145+ books or more in a year. How do you even do that?? Like how? Im genuinely confused if theyre breezing past it to hit a quota, but if otherwise Im genuinely jealous and envious.

Audiobooks are difficult for me to follow along. I cant do it, so that’s not an option. Ive tried several times and it was frustrating for me.

Im also really tired from working f/t and even though I carry my kindle in my backpack, I dont even touch it when Im transitting back home. It just sits in my bag for weeks/months. Makes me feel bad.

The days I have off Im too busy doing things I need to catch up on so the times I have to sit down and relax, Im watching youtube videos.

I don’t think there’s a competition regarding how many books one can read in a year. Everyone’s got different lifestyle, routines, distractions, etc. Personally, I used to finish a book in 3 days max when i was in college. Now, amidst work routine, i almost gave up the habit, yet have been trying to read books again and obvs I’m getting there, but slowly and it’s alright. So, you should feel alright too and read to get the comfort, it shouldn’t feel like competing in the race. Peace. ☺️

Also, even if you read a page in a day, it’s fine. No need to pressurize yourself or take stress. Have a nice day!
