What is a book you wouldn’t have read without this sub?

Are there any books you’ve seen recommended from this sub that you’ve now read (and hopefully loved) that you wouldn’t have read otherwise? I guess it’s sort of a way of asking, “Does this sub actually work?”

For me, three recent books jump to mind:

* “Dungeon Crawler Carl”. I do read fantasy and sci-fi now and again but this is the type of book that, on the cover, seems insanely moronic. After seeing it recommended again and again, though, and looking for something lighter at the time, I got the audio book and couldn’t stop listening.
* “Into Thin Air”. I have read “Into the Wild” so it’s not like I’m not familiar with Krakauer, but I was under the impression that he was a bit of a one hit wonder. Again, I saw this book recommended again and again and decided to give it a go and was not disappointed.
* “The Endurance: Shakleton’s Legendary Antarctic Expedition” – I actually don’t read a ton of non-fiction and this is another book I would look at the cover of and think it was going to be a boring read. I’m actually not 100% done this one but am completely enthralled.

All to say, I am really glad I found this sub and can definitely say it’s impacted my reading habits. I read a lot already but love branching out to find new authors and genres.
