Hello! Today I received an email that I have approximately $425 to spend on Hi-Lo or content related books. I teach 7th grade ancient history (Stone Age to Rome). I taught 6th grade ELA for 10 years, and I have over 1,700 books in my classroom, so I’d like to keep my focus on content related books. Over the past 5 years, I’ve been amassing a collection of informational picture books with a historical aspect and the Who HQ series.

I’d really like to find a lot of great interactive books for my 7th graders. These will be items that they can pick up and read when they have finished with classwork. Of course if they would like to check them out, they may do so as well. Right now, I have about 30 books that would fall into this category, and the ones that are picked up the most are the DK eyewitness books, a cutaway book which shows the interior of many different places/items, and a board book with the layers of a mummy. In summary, books that don’t have to be read in order, have engaging pictures, and chock full interesting facts.

I was hoping by posting here many of you would have excellent ideas for me. I don’t want to waste my money on something that will just sit on my shelf for the next 15 years, and never have the spine cracked.

I have to have my order submitted by Thursday, May 16th. All orders have to go through Amazon (school credit card). If you could post an Amazon link with your recommendation, that would be even more amazing.

Thanks in advance! ❤️ I appreciate anything you send me. 😁📚👩‍🏫
