Looking for something similar to “Scoring off the Field” by Naima Simone, in which the MFC is best friends with the MMC, and she is in love with him. Somehow he finds out, whether she tells him, or not (doesn’t matter), and he gently lets her down, and tells her he sees her as a sister and doesn’t want to ruin their friendship. She takes the rejection “well”, but secretly she’s devastated. In an effort to move on, MMC needs to be out of sight, out of mind, so she removes herself by moving across the country. MMC character realizes he’s in love with her and ends up doing some hardcore groveling.
